        Mrs. Baukje (Betty) Paulusma, age 90 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital-General, on Friday, October 31, 2003. Born in Drachten, The Netherlands in 1913, Betty came to Canada in 1929, first to Winnipeg where she met her husband Jan and in 1952, together with their family, moved to Thunder Bay, residing on John Street Road for a number of years. After the death of her husband, she moved to the Good Shepherd Village and for the last two years Betty had lived at Bethammi Nursing Home. She loved to travel making numerous trips to visit her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting and handy work. Betty was a member of Bethlehem Christian Reformed Church. Betty is survived by her children: Laura (Joe Vanderwees) of Thunder Bay, Martin (Liz) of Cobourg, Martha (Harry Vanderwees) of Winnipeg, MB, Johanna (Lionel Boyer) of Thunder Bay, Lillian (Michael Callon) of London, ON, Beverly (Henry Penner) of Costa Rica, Elizabeth Ross of Ear Falls, ON, Kenneth (Anna), Edward (Raili), both of Thunder Bay, Judith Mate of Coaldale, AB. ; twenty three grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers: John, Henry, Leo, Peter; sisters: Dora, Annie, Wilma, Cathy and Laura. She was predeceased by her husband Jan; brother Sid and granddaughter Stacie Mate. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 3rd at 2:30 p.m. in Bethlehem Christian Reformed Church, 75 Walkover Street, officiated by Pastor Henry Vander Beek Interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to the charity of choice. "
