Her parents were Derk Jan ter Haar (1901-1958) and Engelina Maria Punt (1901-1936) who were both born in the Netherlands. Traces Catarina's ancestry in the Netherlands for ten generations. Dirk ter Haar was born in about 1770. He married Mechelt Dirks in about 1790. They had two children who were born in Rheden, Gelderland, the Netherlands.
