CHARLES PAULUSMA Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 8, 2000, Charles Paulusma passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 88 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Tienie; children, Joan (Victor) Proteau and Charles (Pauline) Paulusma; grandchildren, Laurie (John) Henderson, David Proteau, Wendy Proteau, Jason Proteau, Karen Paulusma, Allison (Chris) Kulbaski, Kristen (Darryl) Reimer and Michelle Paulusma; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, Derrick, Tyler, Connor and Travis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by brothers, Paul and John; sisters, Griet, Ann Bullee, Christine Posthumus, Nellie Posthumus and Gertie Sprong. Born in Drachten, The Netherlands, on May 3, 1911, Charles immigrated to Canada in 1927 and eventually settled in St. Germaine, Man. as a market gardener. He and his wife, Tienie retired in St. Vital in 1981. he enjoyed bowling at Dakota Lanes for many years and was very outgoing. He enjoyed meeting people, especially at the St. Vital Centre. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the Victoria General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Charles will be held at the St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd., on Friday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Peter Douglas will officiate. Interment of Charles cremated remains will take place in St. Vital Cemetery, River Road, following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles memory to a charity of ones choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
