CANADA.

WINNIPEG, the writer of this has moved,
with his family from the Netherlands to Canada
april 26. This is 6 months ago. His father and
brother have been here for allmost a year.

We live in Fort Garry;  this is a village on the
road from Winnipeg to the United States.
This is a road with busy traffic.  With our
housse we have about 13 acres of land, which
is about 3000 roeden. We grow vegetables
that are taken to the market in Winnipeg each day.
The potatoes here are fatter than in the Netherlands,
People here like them that way,  preferably the size
of small turnips. But beets they prefer small.
We also grow corn which is eaten a lot her.  They
eat it when it is big and fag, boiled covered with
butter and then they gnawn it off.

Summer has been particular nice, Good weather
each and every day and not a lot of rain. The temperature
here is higher here than in the Netherlands.
This summer we have had days with temperatures up to
94 degrees, but it is easier to bear that temerature here.

Winters here are much colder but good to bear because
it is a dry winter.

Currently it is October with still nice weather; during the
day in the fields even warm.

A lot of dutch people are living in the Winnipeg area.
Winnipeg is a city with appr. 250,000 people.

Looking to the future, Canada looks better than
the Netherlands. With good effort one can make an
advantage here. For me at least it is much better
here as in my home town Drachten.
