VICTOR PROTEAU
VICTOR MARCEL PROTEAU It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Victor at Riverview Health Centre after a short battle with cancer on Monday, April 10, 2006. Vic was born on September 15, 1937 and resided in St. Adolphe, MB all his life. He retired in January 2005 after 30 years of service as Traffic Manager at Gardewine North. He was employed by Reimer Express for 10 years prior to furthering his career in the transportation industry at Gardewine. Besides his love of work and his many friends at Gardewine, Victor had a dedication and love for his family. Victor, always the entertainer, will be remembered for his sense of humour and his gift of music. Vic was predeceased by his father and mother, David and Stella Proteau; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Gerard Perron; brother Edouard Proteau of Ottawa, ON and brother-in-law Léonidas Lagassé. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 46 years, Joan (Paulusma), daughter Laurie (John) Henderson (Winnipeg), daughter Wendy Proteau of Winnipeg, sons, David Proteau of Manitoba Development Centre, Portage la Prairie and Jason Proteau of Medicine Hat, AB, grandchildren, Joshua and Riley Henderson and Ayden Proteau (Alberta), brother Armand (Irene) Proteau, sisters, Annette Lagassé, Alice (Glen) Little of Saanichton, BC, Irene (Raymond) Pastuzenko, sister-in-law Lise Proteau of Ottawa, brother and sister-in-law, Chas and Pauline Paulusma and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Gerald Michaud officiating at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church in St. Adolphe, MB. Interment to follow at the Parish cemetery. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for the wonderful care that Vic received.
